Wonderful gun. Congrats to new owner. Curious about the checkering on the butt stock compared to the fore end. Is this how they made them?

The ball grip and grip cap are really cool. Another beautiful B grade.

I bought that gun and should have it soon. Looked right to me. Letter ordered. I broke my new years resolution of no new guns. LOL

Awesome. Were you able to find how it's choked and chambered?

Craig,
Very nice BH, I was watching it, and didn't bid because of other projects. (rebuilding the furnace!)
The letter certainly presents interesting history, crossing three different "books" in it's early history.

You didn't break any resolution Craig. That gun is 126 years old. It's surely not a new gun. See, I can fix any problem you might have. Free of charge.

Craig, well done sir. Beautiful gun. Nice job.
I just picked up a new B Grade as well. Although mine is a bit older than yours...

Thanks for the comments everyone. It's not a closet queen but it looks like a nice solid example untouched that could use a gentle cleaning. It appears to have some CC and a strong Damascus pattern. The bonus for me is the ball grip gold capped, and the fact that it is a 1898 Boston Show Gun. I will post some better pictures when I get it in hand.

I received the gun yesterday. The barrels checked out, min. walls, bores, chokes etc. The left barrel does have two tiny dents that I will have John Hosford take care of at the Southern. Wood is in great condition and untouched. The skeleton butt had the three small screws in the wrong holes so I took care of that. The rear tang screw needed tightening so I removed the trigger guard and the stock was stamped correctly. Love the engraving. I'm happy.

A gloriously "no apologies" business card of the vendor that Parker Brothers, Meriden, shipped Craig's exhibition gun to.

My 16ga raised her daughter, a 20ga, alone, after her father ran off with an Elsie.
There's an uncanny resemblance to your 12ga, Craig. Perhaps a paternity test is in order.
