Breaking one of my own rules, I loaned an old manual to a friend, who now "can't find it'.
I'm nearing the end of my stash of 7625, which was the only powder I used in 16ga Cheddite, 2 1/2", 7/8oz loading, but have enough PB for the foreseeable future.
If you have a good PB 16ga load, using SG16 wads, could you share it with me?
I have been trying 572, in place of 20/28 in both 20ga and 28ga, but find it pretty dirty.

Do you by chance have SR4756 in any abundance ? When I got the overabundance of the WIN AA type 16 gauge hulls I got a bunch of 4756 in the deal which was what this fellow used and it worked darn well . Also used the SP-16 wad in his instructions .

What recipe do you have using 4756?

See if I can find it when I’m at the shop Monday . It however was an ounce and used the SP-16 wad .

I've got an unopened 5lb can and a half pound already opened. I used 4756 on my 20ga 7/8oz loads for years until 20/28 came out. Might have to experiment.

ahem. Back to that PB, of which I have 2 Five pounders. It was perfect in low pressure 20 and 12, so there's gotta be a sweet spot for 16 too. I've never needed to try 4756 in the past. I'll keep that card in my back pocket for now.

I’d never wanted to try it until I bought all this sort of friend had . But since then I loaded up maybe 8-9 pounds of 4756 .

Edgar, I have a 28g load for PB too if you're interested. Very soft shooting.

I have been using Marks data for about 5 or 6 years which he shared. Its an excellent load using Cheddite 2 1/2" hulls, PB powder, and 7/8 lead. I have used this for sporting clays, dove, and pheasants. It works!
I inherited quite a bit of PB when my brother passed, and I think I still have about 25lbs. left. It is an excellent powder for 16 gauge and a number of pistol loads.
I Thing you will like it.

2 3/4" 28g Cheddite and Fiocchi hulls and proper wads with 3/4 oz lead will take 14g PB. Remington STS hulls and proper wads with 3/4 oz lead will take 12g PB.
