The heavy urethane type finish makes repair work a little tricky. Without knowing the exact sort of damage, it is hard to advise on the best method of repair. Your question is too general.

I agree it is a general question, but I was just asking and then further elaborate on the details of the damage depending on the replies. PM sent to you, thanks

Post a picture of the damaged area. It will then be easier for people to make a recommendation.

I bought a repo 20/16 ga DHE with a scared up stock. I totally stripped the stock, steamed out the dents and sanded it very smooth. I masked the checkering. I refinished with Tru-Oil. Rubbed in many coats and later use linseed oil about once a year. It turned out very nice.

How about showing us Before and After pics of both sides of your handiwork in the “Let’s see some wood” thread? Here’s that thread: https://parkerguns.org/forums/showthread.php?t=8965

I’m quite sure all would appreciate seeing them!

How did you strip it?

I would think that could be touched up without redoing the whole stock. Since it is on the bottom, if it wound up "good enough" that could be a solve.

I would just live with it and use the gun. Every ding has a story behind it. Remove them and they are forgotten. You will not miss a bird, real or clay because of those.

I've pretty much decided that's what I'm going to do. I would rather not get into something that doesn't turn out 100%. Thanks for everyone's input.
