Did anyone go to the Las Vegas Gun Show? Any interesting American double to report?

Ken said that the show was a bit light on doubles as compared to years past.

I bought my first Super Fox at Winter Vegas, a long time ago. I was also assigned bar duty in a very understaffed Southwest airliner on the way home one year. The flight attendant told our group that we were "In charge" and there would be no charge for drinks we served. I have no idea how she picked our group for this duty. Maybe it was our PGCA badges.

Ahhh the good old days of propeller driven airliners :rotf:

I went on Friday. A little light on American doubles, as stated, but lots of early Winchesters and Colts.
I saw Josh L working with a customer, but I didn't want to butt in just to say hi. He had some very nice guns to drool over!
All said, a pretty good show. They even had an Abe Lincoln look alike who really did look like Abe.

Here I am with Abe. I am 6 ft tall, btw.

Did you thank him for instituting income tax, Todd?

Well, I was born and raised on a farm.

No, but I told him to avoid theaters.

"More than rumor has it" that folks in the hard coal and pigeon shooting districts of Pennsylvania didn't recognize or participate in income tax until we were involved in World War Two.

ALL FARMERS are ''Good Old Boys''

Harry
My dad was a farmer, as was his dad. Part of my childhood (Summers) were spent on my Grandparents farm, working and helping out any way I could.
This was an old-school farm where the only heat source was wood fired, and much of the food was raised on the property.
Eggs were gathered every day, cows were milked, soap was home made, as well as butter.
My grandfather built their modest little home with his own hands, and incorporated indoor plumbing into the design. The water heater was built into the wood stove. My first chore every morning was starting the fire in the wood stove.
I mostly worked in the field, and split firewood.
To this day, I believe splitting firewood is one of the most therapeutic activities you can do. I am actually pretty good at splitting wood.

The auction houses had a lot of very nice guns, and I am sure they will be well advertised. It was fin to see all of theguys. The storms kept some from coming this year!!

There were several Parkers to be seen at this show. The bulk were on display for future auctions but several others as well. To my eye the show was a little light in attendance and light in double guns. That's not to say there were not any there, just light. In no particular order a few pics of some guns and other items as seen at the show:

First there were the consecutive numbered 24" GHE's for sale, previously seen on the forum. There was also a 3rd 24" gun I did not get a picture of. A 12 Ga VH that had me intrigued right up to the thin wall Brileys.

A DHE vent rib gun with 32" tubes coming up on Cowans auction.

The next 2 pics are of a little 20 bore live bird gun with custom engraving as ordered by the customer. I know this because the buyer said so. The price is not a typo either

An Ithaca Grade 6 SBT

Three pics following the Ithaca SBT are Parkers as presented by Kirby Hoyt:
16 Ga DHE with 32" barrels
28 Ga VH with 28" barrels
20 Ga DHE with 28" barrels

A sampling of Parkers as offered by Lion Stone Consulting

Various Parkers on the table of a Texas vendor

Anyone need a set of barrels for that K gun?

How about a waxed version of the Duke to stand guard outside the man cave or vault courtesy Reata Pass Auctions.

How about some Tombstone or Lonesome Dove decor ?

The final 5 pics are of the only thing that followed me home. BHE 20, 32" Acme barrels on a 1 1/2 frame. Not much right with it, not much wrong with it either :)

Thanks Randy. WOW a 32" 20ga with 32 inch barrels well done and congratulations !!! 1 1/2 frame also. What is the year of manufacturer?? Did you get a letter? Thanks for all the pictures and report. B grades are so nice, my favorite.

Craig that is a 1915 gun I do not have the letter in possession yet, as a matter of fact I have yet to order it. Having said that I do know the contents of the letter. It does support the 2 and 7/8 Chambers and I do recall something being in there about the chokes and the weight. There was probably more but it has escaped me now. I'm going to try to get that letter ordered within the next day or so. I did just finish measuring the chokes and they are both full and full

Those aren't pin punch marks. That's called stippling and it's all the rage on action pistol grips, front strap and back strap. That's for sure grip during those go fast matches. I'd say that was factory done for some of that there fast paced driven bird shooting. It also provides more surface area to help cool the gun down. Don't want any cook off while bringing the gun to bear on one of those rocket-like red-legged partridges.

Claimed that the gun lettered as it stands. I'd like to see that letter.

Maybe it was an attempt to tighten up the action.
You know if you beat on a gun with a hammer, it will tighten it up some.
