The tables in The Parker Story, page 279, shows one Grade 2 hammerless 20-gauge with 24-inch Damascus barrels and none with Parker Special Steel barrels.

That gun is in the Serialization book as a 20ga with 24 inch barrels. It also list 2 extras . i don't know what extras you have ? But that gun IMO is very much worth getting a letter on. Sorry I can't be of more help. I'm no expert by any means.

Not to say you couldn’t get a decent sum for it in Cannannada but when it comes to folks down here buying from across the border without seeing in person it’s kind of a pig in a poke because I don’t think you can return the item if you’re dissatisfied . Or if you can the process is difficult at best I think .

That is a wonderfully unique gun. I can’t get good resolution on my phone — it looks like a checkered butt. Can you post a photo of the butt? Also, do you know the choke constrictions?
You really should get a letter. Depending on what it says, a letter can enhance the value of a gun.

The 14 on the right barrel flat is the superscript of the weight stamp; 2 lbs 14oz.
The 15 on the left barrel flat is an inspection mark.

Thanks Edgar, I missed that... Odd than the OP posted those without anything to support it other than a previous picture...
But then he's looking for information and I didn't take that into account.

Kenny, I don't blame you for not wanting to part with that gun. If you do get a letter on it, I hope you'll consider sharing it with us. Again, that's a unique Parker.
Good shooting!

No better gun for the great woodcock and grouse New Brunswick has to offer.

I have the same gun in a D grade , same round knob, checkered butt , ejectors . It is a rare gun and makes a great woods grouse gun. This is definitely a special order and a research letter would be illuminating. Mine was a Christmas gift to a young woman in South Carolina then went with her to Halifax NS when she married . I bought it out of Canada.
This gun would be in demand.

24" Parkers may not move off the shelf the way a long barreled gun might today, but I have had 3; a cut down 16ga. lifter, an original 24" VH 28ga., and a cut down DHE 20, which I still have. All have gotten birds for me. Dean's fabulous Damascus DH was owned by a man in Bridgport CT, who was the hunting buddy of the guy who owned my cut down lifter.

Kenny, if you will order a PGCA letter that is pulled from copies of the original Parker books it could contain such information of when the gun was ordered and shipped as well as the features of the gun such as barrel length and gauge. If you join the PGCA you will save money on the cost of the letter and will also receive a quarterly magazine called the Parker Pages. The membership and the letter will cost less than ordering the letter only.
