If you are feint of heart, or have a pacemaker, look away.
This highly modded GHE was originally owned by a fairly well known P shooter from the midwest.
Came to me from a gun dealer at a big trap shoot in Vegas, and I just had to have it.
Paid way too much, in fact.
Miller trigger. Best trigger pull/operation ever!
Moneymaker Rib. Just because!
Soft Comb and pad. Can't be too comfortable in the ring!
Seits (sp) barrel work. Pattern performance keeps birds in the ring, and wins shoots.
The grip? Black sand/epoxy. No slip grip!
I campaigned this gun all over the place out here for a little more than a year.
When the scores posted, and the money was paid, they stopped laughing! This gun moved like magic, and killed like a neutron bomb!
Some day I know I will have to sell it, and will probably get 500 buck or so, but whatever.
I had my fun, and made my mark with this gun!
Charles Parker would understand.

Thanks, Todd. Looks like a purpose built killing machine, to me.
Best to you, Stan
Edited to add: We have more the same interests besides Parkers, I see. I have a gun holder exactly like the one you pictured, out in my shop, and pool is my favorite other sport. I shoot a Meucci cue. As happens with Parkers occasionally, I found it in a local pawn shop in like-new condition.

That’s a great gun Todd!! I like it! Nothing wrong with making a gun fit the owner to accomplish the tasks at hand. Can I skip to the top of the line to buy that gun?? 🤣 That would make for a nice article with accompanying pics for Parker Pages. Just sayin’.

Thanks for the kind words guys. I've always had this belief that even though the clay target games were being dominated by the single sight plane guns, the SxS was being overlooked, and was actually superior on actual birds.
Clay has a known speed, path, hold point and break point.
Birds don't have rules. They pop out from an unknown location, and take an unplanned direction, and almost never in a straight line.
Plus birds accelerate, while clay slows down.
It's hard for me to imagine a purpose built target gun having the dynamics of this Parker pigeon gun. The Eyetalians strive for this on bird guns, and you pay big bucks to find out.
This GHE is a built for comfort tool with the magical handling characteristics of a fast handling field gun. Live birds out to 40 yds could not outmaneuver this gun!
I was already starting to become a Parker fan, though I was shooting a M 21 on game.
To me, this little Parker was all business, and it certainly got the job done in the ring.
Later, as I grew my Parker knowledge, I started realizing that in the collector's community, this was a red headed step-child.
This was not a beavertail FE gun from the factory, and after a career involving 1 1/4 oz pigeon loads, one day the FE lug came loose.
I soldered it back on, but stopped shooting it then, not trusting the shabby job I did.
Adding up all of this I was thinking I needed to create yet one more empty spot in my dwindling collection. Maybe not just yet, we'll see. The memories with this gun are still pretty powerful. If I listen, she talks to me - still.

Todd, you can laugh all the way to the bank with that red headed step-child! I shoot a VHE 30" barrels that fits me like a glove for ZZ-birds. My VHE isn't highly modified but has a poorly done case color job so collector value in terrible. When I walk out to the line with that old Parker I get more then a few raised eyebrows and a few chuckles. The bystanders change their tune when they witness just how effective that old girl in on those plastic flying bandits :).

Christopher, I wish I had picked up on ZZs way back when! It's grown into a pretty serious discipline!
Doesn't pay as well as pigeons, (yet) but you can shoot to your hearts content, and all you're killing is your wallet.
;-)
BTW, here is some footage of a good friend of mine, a Master Class shooter, showing what it looks like to run all 5 with one shot ea.
He makes good money at this and pigeons.

ZZ Bird is a lot of fun. Definitely easier on the wallet than box birds! Live birds is where the $$ is. Cost a LOT, but if you have a good day you can take home a wad of cash.

Stan, if you make it out to my neighborhood we could shoot a few rounds of pool. Or a few doves, depending on the season.

Wonderful purposed modified gun. Would love to hear more of its history. Was it used at the International Flyer Championship at Kansas City 1917 to 1941?
Would like to see some more pics of that Moneymaker rib if you have a chance.

Thanks for the kind words, Mike!
I would love to write an article on this for the PPs, but I need to be very careful about posting or writing about this activity.
Back in the SSBBS days, I would sometimes become a little too talkative about a P shoot, and would receive an email from someone reminding me to be careful about publicly sharing these things.
BTW, all of the pigeon shooting mentioned here took place in a tiny hamlet in Old Mexico called Elbonia. That's all I can say about that ;-)
Dave, I don't know any of the history of the P shooter who owned this gun back in the day, other than one of the old timers I know who, BTW, made his living with a shotgun, spoke highly of him. (Steve Carmichael)
I've got some running to do this morning, but when I get back, I will get her out and shoot some pics of the rib.
