Hello all,

I am an 07 FFL and we deal extensively in the used collectable firearm market. I have a client who has contracted with me to liquidate his family collection of Parker shotguns. I have been utilizing the resources on this website to learn more about his guns but I am having a hard time putting a definitive value on them. The consignor has a value in mind for each gun but I am trying to use a market based approach to determine a fair, reasonable market value on his guns. I would like to get him the fair value he is entitled to but would also like to list them for at least somewhere in the ball park of where they are supposed to be.

What resources can anyone recommend for valuing these guns? Is there any resident appraisers here?

Kenneth:

Knowledgeable Members on here generally recommend going the "Blue Book of Gun Values" (see link below), as they are disinclined to assume such a role as, "resident appraiser".

Members of the Parker Gun Collectors Association (annually paying a $40 per year fee) have access to the Members Only section of this Forum, which includes the ability to list guns for sale, which you could consider.

A Member may chime in with further advice, the likelihood of which is greatly increased if good photographs are posted by you of the guns in question.

Step one is to let us know where you live and where the guns are. A face to face is the only way to get an appraisal.

Kenneth - feel free to contact me. I handle as many Parker’s (or more) as anyone in the country.

Kenneth, Josh Loewensteiner is as good a resource on the Parker market as anyone in the country.
