Today was the first time out with the 1880 10 gauge Parker Lifter. I experienced a touch of trepidation having never fired the gun. When Breck finished the barrels he also measured them, the thinest point was 44 thousandths with the majority of readings well above 50 thousandths. Being a #3 frame it’s not surprising. Anyway, it functioned like a new 143 year old gun without a hiccup.
My fisherman son Jason went 5 for 5! With only 12 rounds in tow my other son Ross and I touched off the remaining rounds, I think we each dusted at least one apiece. I have video proof of one I dusted. The 10.5 pound gun provides a steady platform.
We took turns shooting another Parker, a Damascus DH and some high tech auto rifles. It was a nice outing, mixing my vintage taste’s with Ross’s modern stuff.

The B&P 1160fps 7/8 ounce loads were used in the Damascus DH today. I was very pleased with their performance, a very soft load.

About 5 hours in the wet tumbler with stainless pins, a bit of dish detergent and a dash of Lemi-Shine these hulls are clean inside and out, primer pockets too.
These were fired with good old filthy Black Powder. Good as new. Too bad the bore couldn’t be cleaned that easily.
Twelve hulls aren’t enough, I’m just going to have to get some more.

You are the good father and your boys are fortunate, great mixed outing I know you were pleased with your toys. You'll get those Scott barrels figured out. Can't wait to get back home for the arrival of my Clabrough 10. Mulling over high grade sidelever if I do it that will make 6 high end clabrough guns!! Man can
never have too many !!!
