Repro 20 gauge with weak eject

Just shot a new to me parker repro in 20 gauge. Has weak eject (shells barely come out a foot or so) although it does work and seems to be timed perfectly. I'm assuming forend springs are weak, but not 100% sure. Any ideas?

Have the action stripped and cleaned.

Are you shooting reloads? if so, they may not be resized very well

No factory ammo and I have a relatively identical 20 gauge to compare it to and that's how I know it's ejecting weak.

TRUE STORY: A few years back I purchased an unfired DHE 28ga. 2-bbl. set as a speculative investment. After receiving the gun I test fired it using snap caps and found the ejectors were quite anemic, very much like you’ve described Anthony. I continued test firing with the snap caps and found that the more times the ejectors did their job, the more robust they became. Eventually the ejectors functioned like you’d normally expect. I never did fire that gun with live ammo and it has since moved down the river of commerce.
MORAL OF THE STORY: Who knows? The same result could happen with your gun.

As much trouble as folks have with ejector retaining plates and ejector hammers you would probably be better off if it stays that way.
