Help with estimating the value of two parker doubles.

Hello, I have two Parker shotguns and I am looking for some help to determine the value of each.
#1. SN 91823 W/case, mfd 1899, grade 1?
#2. SN 197534, mfd 1922, grade VH?

They have been in my family for a very long time and I would like to get an
idea what they may be worth.
I have attached a photo of each.

Hello Leonard: Parker Bros. SN 91823 shows in "THE BOOK" as a PT Grade, or a Grade Zero gun with pail Twist Steel 30 inch barrels, hammerless extractor action with capped pistol grip stock. Depending on condition of the barrels it would be worth between $800 & $1,200 IMO.
SN 197534 shows in "THE BOOK" as a V grade with Vulcan Steel 30 inch barrels, hammerless extractor action with a capped pistol grip stock. Again, depending on the condition of the barrels it would be worth between $1,000 & $1,500. IMO

If 91823 is in fact, a Grade 0 (which would be a Vulcan if it had Vulcan Steel barrels) with Twist barrels it would be worth considerably more than the estimated value Brother George has placed on it. A Grade 0 hammerless with Twist barrels is somewhat of a rare bird especially with its original case.

Now, could it be a Grade 1, a PH? If so, not so rare.

91823 is in fact a Grade 1 12 gauge 30" barrels with pistol grip stock.

Dean & Dave: Then why does "THE BOOK" say it's a PT Grade "Grade O with Plain Twist Barrels"? Educate me please! And I could not tell for sure if that was an original Parker case.
I could see no label. Your book my have info that mine does not. I have three Parkers that "THE BOOK" says are Grade PT. Are they RARE? I HOPE SO!

George, The "Book" states the 91823 is a PT hammerless gun. I think that is a typo. It should be P1. But the "Book" designates them as PT.

It's all very confusing...

If Parker No. 91823 were listed as the majority of other Parker hammerless guns were listed, e.g., a Titanic barreled DH or Grade 3 is listed as a TI3; a Bernard barreled CH or Grade 4 is listed as a B4; a Acme barreled BH or Grade 5 is listed as a A5; a Whitworth barreled AAH or Grade 7 is listed as a W7; an Acme barreled CH or grade 4 is listed as a A4... then 91823 should be listed as a T1 because the term PT or "Plain Twist" went out with the hammer guns and was not used on the hammerless Parkers.

Leonard: The markings on the water table of the action body would give the grade. The markings may be a number or a letter or both, either above or below the serial number.

The education continues.
91823 has a P above the SN, ejectors, Twist on the rib, and a T that is circled on the barrel.
The case is original as far as I know.
197534 has VH on the water table, and vulcan steel on the rib.
Is the book you are refering to the Parker gun ID and serialization?

Yes it is Leonard. It's a great reference guide but there are a few errors in there.
