Has this ever been determined? This was on the tag of a nice DH 12 ga,
ser# 230234 that I stumbled across while helping my wife's cousin clean out things from her deceased parents house. A DH 12 with nice damascus barrels, 30", look to me like the original case coloring, but I think the stock was cut, 131/4" over a SSBP that looks to have been reblued at some point.
I cant post all the pictures right now, have a tennis match to get to, so these are just teasers, and will try to post the others after my match tonight.
Really interested in the opinions here, maybe someone can look up the serial# in the book. It is not mine, but might be soon.

A letter may tell whether the short stock is factory. It's pretty difficult to install a skeleton butt on a cut stock. Nice gun. I assume it won't be for sale.

Does the list that Josh is keeping have information on the latest recorded Damascus gun?

Apparently, the serial # is not in the books, rats, but thanks for looking Jim. I will be ordering a letter on it tomorrow. There is a good chance that I may be able to pick up this gun. I'm posting the rest of the pictures and looking forward to your thoughts/comments.
Oh yeah, I won my tennis match.

Unfortunately, a letter cannot be ordered. Is there anything in the ser# book?

I thought that The Parker Story had mention of what they thought was the last damascus parker made.?
A look in the serialization book would surly give some idea as to what is the last listed in there. Of course if there are missing records after that point, one cannot account for that.

Brian, what is your take on the originality of the stock. The short LOP and the bluing of the SSBP that shows little wear, looks almost too bright--actually the whole gun shows little wear. If someone had shortened the stock, would have thought they would have just installed a pad rather than going thru all the work of fitting a SSBP, which I am told is quite a job. I posted all the pictures I took, but will be going back to move more furniture. The owner knows I would like to have the gun, and believes she has the paperwork from when her father bought the gun at auction and for how much. Although we may not be able to say this is the last damascus barreled Parker, it may well be the last known survivor . What a shame no records exist, would think this gun would be of great interest to Parker historians.

What an interesting gun.
A barrel weight of 4 5 on a 12-gauge 1-frame! That is the weight on a lot of 2-frame 12-gauge barrels. In addition to the D on the flat for Damascus there is also a T. What is that about?

The 1-frame C hammer I had for sale recently had similar barrel weight.
