I posted in the restoration section and got 1 reply - so I thought I might again for some more feedback.

I have 1 1/2 frame 12ga VH that needs a new DHBP (with spur) - I checked the dimensions of the galazan plates and ordered the 1 frame as it seemed correct. However, while the screw holes are correct, it is just barely too small... Could a 2 frame plate be resized?

The old plate on the gun has a "1" on the back - any advice on to where to get a correctly sized replacement?

Tom,

I'm probably not going to be much help here, but I'll try.

From my observations Parker stocks and butt profiles can differ greatly in their shapes & profiles. I have two #1 framed 16ga guns from the same era. One has a small slim profile and the other is noticably larger and therefore also weighs considerably more. Looking at the two of them together you would swear the larger one is on a two frame.

My suggestion would be for you to call someone like Brad Bachelder & get his his take on your situation. I've had Brad replace a trashed out DHBP with a reproduction one and make it look as close to original as possible. He has some good tricks up his sleeve for this sort of thing.
