Has anybody owned and shot a over and under Piotti shotgun? I'm considering purchasing one but rarely hear much talk in the gun circles about these fine guns. I only know what I've read and it seems that they are not only one of the best guns made in Italy but one of the best in the world. In fact some highly regarded gun people and writers have them rated in the top ten of all shotguns. Anyway if you know anything about Piotti shotguns let me hear your opinion.

A friend up here had a 26" Piotti S/S 28 ga that was to die for. Absolutely top quality as far as I could tell and I shot it very well. Beautiful little wand of a gun.

A friend of ours owns Advanced Arms in Pittston, PA. He has some very nice Piotti guns and they are his favorite. If you have questions about Piotti, call Jeff Dickson at 570-665-4867. Let him know Mike sent you.

OMG. Can you say Nirvana? Yes. They are renowned for making their own tools to make their own parts, all proprietary.

I don't have any doubts about the quality but I noticed going though some auction catalogs that they don't have very good resale value. In most cases your looking at under 50%.

John, I believe Piotti is at a time and place where Francotte was many years ago...I remember you could have picked up a nice smallbore Francotte for nothing...try that today!

Funny you should mention Francotte- I was looking at an old James Julia catalog(March 16,2015)this morning and came across a beautiful deep engraved Francotte 410 with 2 gold foxes after some quail. This has to be one of the best Francottes that I have seen. Noticed that it is pictured on the front cover of the catalog also.
