A splendid gun, indeed! I owned a 12-bore Woodward hammergun once. Records revealed it was originally made up for Frank Heathcote, Esq. -- founder of the Hurlingham Club.

Nice!! I really like the fences on that gun, and the engraving generally. They don't make 'em like that any more.

Andy, they are not the same. The hemispherical part if the receiver is sometimes referred to as fences. The side clips are the irregular part of the fence which intrudes upon the circumference of the barrel breech. This gun’s fences also have side clips.
