I bought a box full of assorted snap caps at a local auction and was pleased to find a set of 4 Purdey 16ga snap caps among the dozens of other assorted brass and nickel snap caps. I would like to sell these and considered putting them in my pocket while at the Southern SxS to see if any interest. Does anyone here have any idea what these may be worth in their red leather case?
Thanks,
John

What else did you buy in that stash? Price your 16 gauge caps and I will go out and find a 16 gauge Purdey to go with them...How much?

That's the problem, I'm not sure what they are worth. I know your not going to find them just anywhere, especially a 4 PC set.

Cool! You might ask on doublegunshop.com; lots of Brit gun fans there. I'd guess they are worth a tidy sum!

Why not simply contact J. Purdey's and get their quote?

I probably could. Really hadn't thought about that.

Those would go great with my 16 bore James Purdey bar in wood hammer gun. It was made a few months before the "and Sons" was added to the name, but close enough. Of course, I'd have to buy a fine English oak and leather case with a Purdey leather maker label for them to reside in. A Purdey branded oil bottle would be a must as well. Certainly Purdey branded brushes and cleaning rod would be necessary to complete the set!
On second thought, I can't afford those snap caps.

I recently bought a pair of 12 gauge Purdey snap caps on eBay UK and paid $90 and $20 shipping.
