As a few of you know, Austin Hogan (who really needs no introduction if you are a PGCA Member), wanted to let you folks know the following.... This note was communicated through Mr. Charles Herzog Sr. who just spoke to Austin's bride, Pam......

"..Austin came thru the surgery procedure fine, albeit 6 and 1/2 hours long.. Heart valve replaced and one bypass preformed. A bit of calcium removed from around the main arterie(s) and presumably it will be 3 to 5 days before Mr. Hogan is released from the hospital.. Mrs. Hogan asked that this information be given so that all of Austin's friends would be updated.."

So, there you have it...

My thoughts and prayers for a speedy recovery are with Austin and, as well - my sincerest thanks to his wonderful bride, Pam for the update.

Thanks Charlie for passing this on..!

John

Thanks John for the update on Austin's condition.

I hope everyone will forgive me for being a bit cryptic in my request for material for the Summer Issue of Parker Pages but I didn't feel it was my position to compromise Austin's privacy and allude to his impending surgery.

I am relieved and grateful for the skill of Austin's surgeons and the fact that he will continue to grace us with his encyclopedic knowledge and relentless documentation of his findings for a long, long time to come.
