Some nice early Parkers went for some very reasonable prices IMHO. Did anyone here win one? SN 170 brought $1,050 SN 676 $600 SN 2156 $400 SN117646 a PH 8 gauge $900.

Best Regards, George

I was going to post about that 8 gauge but some members got a little cranky about the last one I posted. I'll never tell who got the 8 gauge but I found another one at a small house with 40 mixed steel and brass hulls. You know what they say about guns "there like sheep they don't like to be left alone":rotf:

I drove up and looked them over but didn't stay for the auction.

Any idea what they got for ser# 2349 (lot 1053)? I had hopes for that and the wooden Parker case I decided to pass on both.

I looked over the AAH's at Julia's and got on the phone bid list for those; I don't remember the exact sales price but they were both just a bit above the low estimate. I was also interested in a 10ga D that went for well over the high estimate.

So I did well, two auctions with Parkers and my checking account is unscathed.

I bid on 2 , but was outbid on the 16 ga. 2 barrel-- they forgot my bid on 10 ga lifter that looked like a parts gun. sold for 235 and I put a bid of 275. I called and they said they had computer problems. I was SOL. I told them I would tell everyone that they were a waste of time to even bid on thier stuff.

I put in an absentee bid on a gun on Thursday for the Saturday auction. I called on Saturday to up my bid and they had no record of my first bid! They took my new bid and I made it clear that I did not want to bid aganist my self.
They called about 1/2 hour later and confirmed that they had found my original bid and canceled it. They blamed computer problems, but I wonder if it worked in my favor. I won the gun I was bidding on and it closed at less than the low estimate!
It was a good day!:D

Robin, so what did the steel barrel ten go for? Above the high estimate would have been my guess also. I tried to get a big bore loving friend to bid on it but he was interested in another item and wouldn't bid on the ten.
