Just joined today. I've had this gun for a long time (my grandfather's gun, handed down to Dad and then to me a little more than 25 years ago).

I have some pictures I took a few years ago at http://gregwells.com/images/parkerbros/

Using the pages on identification on this site, the info I have is:

20 ga
SN: 132981
According the the SN list on this site, manufactured in 1905
Frame size 0H
Barrel weight: 34
Vulcan steel
Grade 0 V

An old, old appraisal from when I first got the gun (maybe 1984) was at $1500. I have no idea what it would be worth now.

I've always known this is a nice gun and have enjoyed shooting it when I have the opportunity. To me the value is at more in the personal history than the sale value, but I admit to being curious (both for insurance purpose and just general curiosity) as to the real $$ value.

I plan on sending in the info to see if I can get a letter for it, but I'd love to hear anyone else's thoughts on the gun. My uncle has commented that "I lost" the bead on the barrel. I never had one, but I'm wondering if there's anything in particular I should look at for replacement.

Thanks in advance and "hi."

Yup, nice gun, $2500, $2600 if no problems.

I think you guys are right on with the value. Looks perfectly sound externally and is likely pretty grungy inside and in need of a cleaning.

My thoughts?

1. Enjoy it and shoot it a lot.

2. Keep your head on the stock.

3. Follow through.

Interesting markings on the barrel flats. The WK in the oval for Walter King, and Kf associated with his old man, Charles King.

I would guess your granddad was an upland hunter. I guess he hunted woodcock and grouse if in the North East, bobwhite and dove in the South, bobs and blues and dove in the Southwest, Huns and dove in the North West? What part of the world did he live in?

Congratulations on having a 3 generation small bore Parker!

Best,

Mike
