Found slumbering in a rack of dubious-lineaged guns at a local show, this svelte little babe followed me home. I'd wanted a smallbore hammer gun for some time, and this one spoke to me. W.W. Greener 28 gauge with 27" fluid steel bbls. (their standard for this model) and 2 7/8" chambers, nitro proofed for 5/8 oz., choked CYL and MOD. Woodcock look out!

Original Birmingham proofs. Later london reproofs. Looks like Chambers opened to 2 3/4 at that time. Metric number stamps I believe started in 1989.

Yes, yes, yes and yes. Forgot to note the weight at 4 lbs. 14 oz.! Handles like a fine bamboo fly rod.

I would have bought that also Kevin. I once had a 5 lb OU 28 ga with double triggers, but it had a 9 lb trigger pull, I couldnt hit with it and turned it into a GH 16.

I've always wondered when hunting with a double hammer gun, how do you carry it? Do you keep the hammers cocked and just leave the gun open and close it before you shoot, or just try to cock both barrels on the flush like you do with a single shot? This wouldn't be much of an issue either way hunting over a good dog, but a surprise flush could be tricky.

I hunt with gun closed and hammers down I can cock both hammers with no problem even in a surprise situation...charlie

I hunt with pointing dogs and cock the hammers only after a point.
