Has anyone had difficulty logging on to the Doublegunshop website? I keep getting a privacy warning indicating my information is at risk.

With all the trolls on that site, maybe it is a good time to just delete it from my favorites list.

You are not missing much. Let that dumpster fire of a board go.

The best was the thread where they were outing each other for being “closet anti gunners” which is one of my new favorite terms
And “they” is about 4 people who seem like the whole board

I emailed Dave, the forum admin, last evening and got a reply that his certificate has expired and that he should have it back and straightened out in a couple of days. He apologized for the oversight.
I still find a good bit of useful information on the DGJ forum, and plan to continue frequenting it for now. Jim DeMunck (Kutter) posts some of the most helpful gunsmithing information on there that I have ever read anywhere.
I have some of the irritants on ignore, and manage to laugh off most of the extreme mess. For now I find more good there than bad. But, to each his own.

Dave has proven that he simply does not care by running a loose ship. I think he puts not wanting to censor and babysit in front of maintaining a valuable resource for the doublegun community. The number of people and valuable information lost vastly outweigh allowing a hand full of tools have a home.

Stan, what is the DGJ forum that you mention? How do I access it?

There is some good stuff over there and the troublemakers could be amusing before they get out of hand. Dave has cleaned it up for the most part anyway.

Bill, you're already a respected member there, my friend. It's the Doublegunshop forum. My "DGJ" probably threw you.

I haven't logged in there in years but I do admit to checking once in a while to see if there's anything of interest to me; there rarely is. Seeing some of the responses in a thread about the passing of a long-time member reminded me of why I quit.

Just checked and I see that it's back up and running, if there is any interest.

There are some really knowledgeable people there, many of who participate here. I use it a lot, since I have many more interests in guns than just Parkers and there are people there who are really knowledgeable in European guns, single shots, double rifles, drillings etc. It is a shame that 4 or 5 idiots who are either furthuring their own financial interests or on some unexplainable ego trip have been allowed to stay on the board and ruin it for a lot of people.
For a lot of good information on almost any gun related subject, I have participated on Accuratereloading.com for many years. It is owned and run by a Prince from the Emerites, and is the best source I know for Double Rifle info. My favorite forums are the custom gun and gunsmithing forums. The custom forum is notable since many of the world's top gunmakers such as Darcy Echols participate with a lot of info and advice.
It is maybe the largest gun forum on the internet and there is hardly a subject not covered. I have often thought it suffers from it's name seeming to be limited in content.

I know what it's like to run and moderate a BBS with all kinds of personalities colliding.
I don't know how many will remember, but back when Ed from the SSMBBS site kicked a bunch of us off, we started a site that was originally built to mock the SSM site.
It's called the Not Site, and it has a politics forum, which has gotten pretty hard hitting at times.

Trolls are harmless unless people feed them. A lot of people don’t understand that
