I received a letter from BP the other day concerning a data breech. If you ordered a product thru BP and used a credit card between September 18, 2020 and February 3, 2022, your personal information may have been compromised. BP is offering a identity protection program thru IDX for 12 months of credit and CyberScan monitoring at no charge. The deadline to enroll is December 1, 2022. Anyone else get this letter and are you getting the protection?

same here, I hadn't ordered anything in that time frame, and the card I had used before that is gone due to another breech -
getting to be a regular thing these days - PayPal may not be gun friendly - but it saves a lot of exposure - I remember back when buying on the internet was sort of new -Capital one had a way to give a one time number - you told them how much the charge would be - I assume with the traffic these days they would run out of numbers so the process ended

I received the letter also,
I don’t plan to sign up, my previous card was scammed/breached while at the Southern this year,
made me really think about the length of time the waitress had my card the evening before while paying for dinner:rolleyes:
Hopefully it was only a coincidence but it sure had me wondering.

I don’t like to allow my credit card to leave my table at restaurants or bars. Won’t leave my credit car with the cashier at gas stations. 3 seconds with a cell phone camera and you have all of the information needed to scam the card.

I received the letter from Ballistic Products and it referred numerous times to an unnamed third party vendor that provides shopping cart and credit card functionality and had malware on its servers. No explanation why/how that happened. Since the present tense word was used it seems the same vendor still provides those services. So much for "negative consequences" for not having up to date protection against malware and hacking.
That credit card I used has long been cancelled and replaced, and I don't plan to do anything with the IDX protection services. I don't want any intrusion by cyber monitoring. Of course credit card info must be given for on-line orders and nowadays I'm certain to ask that my cc info isn't stored except by the largest vendors like Amazon. No guarantee that will be honored but if I get hacked again I'll deal with it at that time.

I received the letter & am considering signing up for the offered credit service. I've also gotten a couple of similar letters from other businesses I've dealt with including a doctor's clinic.
I did have a credit card breeched in this time frame & had to go through the hassle of disputing charges & changing cards.
It seems like in this electronic cyber age, we are nothing more than chickens waiting to be plucked by some cyber predator.:banghead:
