I have attempted to contact Laura Sewall with Eastern insurance multiple times with no reply. What insurance companies do you recommend?
Thanks

Oh by the way I contacted Hanover insurance company who is suposed to be the insurance cover for eastern insurance and the young lady who answered the phone said they don't cover firearm insurance. I gave them my policy number and she said that number has nothing to do with us.
It left me with a not so good feeling.

Ken, I'd sure recommend leaving Eastern. Gun and Trophy, as already recommended, has been responsive (and cheaper!) for me. I haven't had to use the coverage, but if their responsiveness is any indicator, they should be excellent.

I talked with Larry at gun and trophy insurance, what a great guy, and am now fully insured again thanks for the information!

Show us some paper that shows that Hanover has anything to do with Eastern. If you can show us that paper, then Eastern is lying to you. Ken, get back to us and tell us whether the "young lady" is not telling the truth.

I cancelled with Eastern after Jack passed away due to a lack of any sense of urgency of Eastern’s part.
Went with Gun and Trophy. 100% professional.
Bill will this work?

Bill I am away from home right now and will post a copy of the Hanover/Eastern connection.
I talked with Larry at gun and trophy about my concern about Hanover stating that they don't insure guns, he stated that he was not surprised at the response I got as the young lady probably was unaware of that part of the company.

So, the old gal is lying. I wonder what her salary is? I was going to apply for one of the 87,000 IRS jobs, but the job with Eastern may be more of a fit for me.

Gun and Trophy. Plus, they are trap shooters.

I doubt that she's lying Bill. Ken stated that he contacted Hanover and not Eastern as you had previously alluded to. Hanover is the Carrier and this is a specialty division without doubt that a good deal of their folks probably do not have any knowledge of, nothing abnormal about her response. Now if Ken had contacted Eastern and they would have made that comment that would have been a little concerning, however that is not going to happen as I can assure that Laura knows full well what Carriers paper their program is written on. It has been with Hanover as long as I can recall.

I use SIAI(Sportsman's Insurance Agency, Inc.). I have never put in a claim so I cannot testify on that end. Their coverage is quite broad. You have to be a member of one of several shooting organizations, ATA, NSCA, etc. I don't think PGCA is one.

I just insured with Gun and Trophy. Easy Peasy. Took all of ten minutes, including a terrific phone call with Larry Cushman, the agent. As previously mentioned, great guy and a passionate trap shooter. Paid my premium and -poof- all guns are insured.
Another question on a related note: Does anyone have any experience with insuring fly rods, beyond a regular homeowner's policy coverage?
Thanks,
Dave
