I was wondering what is up with PP. The Remington Journal came a week ago and they are usually within a day of each other.

I’ve not checked the mail since Friday but I’d be surprised if it’s in my box . My local PO crew is inept to put it in a better tone .

It was in my mailbox Monday at 1:40 pm. I had a physical therapy appointment so didn’t get to look it over. Craig Larter was looking good on the cover with his 8ga hammerless. I didn’t recognize the other gent but he had what looked like a 7 frame 8ga hammer gun. I’m excited to get to read it.

August 29, in Maryland, came today. The cover pictures our eight gauge event at the Southern. It was my first competition in several years. Thanks, Craig, for organizing it. Thanks also to Mike and Sam for this great publication.

Dunno whether it showed up yesterday or this AM but it was in my PO box at a little after 10AM which is the time their sign says mail should have been put out for the day .
As usual I've leafed thru and looked at the pictures all very nice . I'll read at a later date . Perhaps saturday morning while perched in a tree no less
To be honest I expect it'll get a good going over tonight after my shower and I'm on the couch .

As much as I (we) will miss DGJ, we are already seeing an influx of articles that were going to be used in DGJ that will now be published in The Parker Pages. Our contributors make our job fun and educational. Too bad school was not the same way, maybe I wouldn't have HATED English class!!

IF it hadn't been for the various history and literature classes in HS I'd never have graduated . As I hated math and science :cuss:

I was the opposite. Every time I'd miss the honor roll it was English that bit me. I hated it, especially the boring drivel they forced us to read. :barf:

I will add that my SR year I took General English instead of CP. That class was great. We would actually do interesting things like choose our own books to read and report on. We would read classic lit in class and we would each have a part, just like we were in a play. We did "Metamorphosis" by Franz Kafka. I was Gregor Samsa and had a great time turning into a cockroach. Funny thing is maybe 20 years later we built a house for her and her husband. I was able to tell her how much I enjoyed her class.

Well now I certainly liked Mills’s article on his Grade 2 4 frame 10 gauge , but then I suppose I could be called somewhat of an 10 gauge aficionado . The Roberts pictorial was quite nice as well . As were the Wheaton and Oesterle articles . I gave up my own war against gobble gobble birds a number of years ago , but that article has me thinking I wanna pole axe a gobbler with one of my 10’s or possibly something larger .

Mills article brought me back to my competitive muzzle loading days in the 80's and 90's. There was an article or two on Carlos Gove in Muzzle Blast (the official magazine of the NMLRA) and something in Ned Roberts book. I don't remember a whole lot about the articles but I did remember the name Carlos Gove.
