Hello, everybody! It has been a long time since I visited the site. I hope you all are doing well.

I found this load some time ago. I do not recall exactly where or when, but, I was hoping someone might recognize it. Here it is, verbatim:

"Ched’s 2 1/2” hull & 209 primer. 3/4 oz load in a SG16 with 18.8 gr of Longshot. 1138 fps & 4733 psi. It comes from the low pressure group data and carries a note from Tom Armbrust, “Very consistent”. That’s been my experience with it as well."

If anyone has tried this load, I would like to hear about their experience.

Cheerio!

I have no experience with that load but if I can find the components I'm definitely going to try it! Sounds perfect for my PH 16 with twist barrels. Thanks for posting the load data!

It is nearly identical, with the exception of powder, to my 7625 load, and I have been told that when I run out of 7625, I should use Longshot. Others have suggested Universal. As an exercise, I may try both, but I have a pretty good supply of IMR powders

Hey Edgar, you get a chance, what is that load with 7625, I still have 3+ pounds of it.
Been using International for my 3/4 oz 16 ga loads with a DR16 wad , but into my last pound of International.

Winchester 572 might be another viable powder for a low pressure 3/4 oz load.

Harold, this recipe is the same I've used for years. I finally using those Herters hulls you gave me. They're Cheddites, but "seem" to have a slightly lower base wad.

2 1/2" Cheddite,
WIN 209
18.5gr 7625
SG16
7/8oz #8
6pt fold crimp
