Has anyone used the 28 Ga 5/8 oz loads for birds or just for clays ?

I have used them on Texas Bobs and Doves and found them very satisfactory.

I've taken lots of grouse and woodcock with them, and quite a few quail. The right gun and a penchant for over estimating distance has proven those loads to be bird takers.

I have used the RST 5/8 oz in 9’s for quail over my dogs with great results.

I ordered a case when this thread started and recieved them yesterday. Surprising thing is that the case was stamped with a manufacturing date in the middle of June, a month ago. Wonder why they just showed up for sale?

I ordered and received my case on Tuesday… $208 to my door. This reminded me that I need to get my PW 28 gauge reloader back up and running.

I have a huge stockpile of 28 gauge normal loads.I was glad to get these so I had a few Lite loads available. I don't actually don't own any vintage 28's, but wanted a few around for the grandkids.

IMO they were cranking them out in June in preparation for the NE SXS. I was there and they had a ton of 28 gauge shells for sale. They were willing to sell cases of those and they wouldn't do that with others. In particular 16 gauge loads were quite limited.
