Congratulations Shane Hoover with an outstanding 19 of 25 for Champ ! Congratulations to Stan Hoover for a fine 18 of 25 for runner up beating out Mike Smith by long run who also broke 18 of 25 with his new to him 8 gauge he just bought in April and shot for the first time today . We had nine participants in total and I think a good time was had by all !

I think Shane grew 3 inches since last year and gained 20 lbs. He has those young sharp eyes and young reflexes. You can see both in how he attacks those birds.

Shane shoots a lot and with heavier loads, and I keep reading cautions here about the "old dry wood" on Parkers. Cracks and split-outs aren't a common problem with Fox guns.
Likewise, just sayin'.

No, Fox guns are made for carrying all day in the field. They are like pump guns and will beat you up over a long day of shooting clay. As for cracks and splits, none of my Parkers had any stock issues. Now if we bring LCS field grade guns into the mix….

Mike my friend, I'm happy you posted about your Parkers; I read your post that "old dry wood" has been a non-issue for your Parkers. Good to know as I've gotten into Parkers. I'm one to shoot traditional/regular loads whether for clays or heavy for hunting and I've never had that concern over decades while shooting many Foxes with same a whole lot. :)

We’ll, any maker’s gun can split and crack. As for my experience, I had two guns have a cheek break off while shooting. One was a BSS that had (unbeknownst to me) previously been repaired. The second was an A grade Fox 16g.

The young man would be downgrading his shooting iron if he shot what you want him to shoot. Your "friend" is very confused. Just saying. :bigbye:

Craig,
I wanted to Thank You for providing trophies, of course it's not all about the trophies, but I think we would be lying if we didn't say we tried a little harder when there's a trophy to be had.
Me and Shane sure enjoyed the comradery of shooting with all the fine gentlemen who shot the BIG GUN EVENT  again
