I think I covered the display and sales tables pretty well at the 2022 Southern but don't recall seeing a single trap of any manufacture all weekend. Does anyone recall seeing any single barrel treasures?

I saw an LC Smith SBT. I believe it was Josh's table but I am not sure. That was it for the American made ones and I was looking too

Fox traps are as rare as always, and oddly, Firetower Doubles didn't seem to have any Ithacas to display. My friend, Swindle, had a great selection of Lindner Daly doubles, but no singles.

Now that you mention it, I remember one Ithaca. It was hiding on one of the vertical racks

I saw the Smith, and two Ithaca SB traps. One was on a vertical display, another on a table had a zip tie around it to prevent opening and it was worn and may have been off face. There was nobody at the table and it was near one of the displays with a pickup backed up to the tent, tailgate down with a lot of empty gun cases in it, if that helps. I think the price was $2,200. That was Friday AM early.

Couldn't agree more, Murph! An unmolested Fox SBT is a veritable TREASURE!
Rarely do they come out to play except for special occasions like this one at Hausmann's a dozen years ago. Remember when?

You are correct Bill, I am sure there was one or two, but I do not recall seeing them.

I’m questioning the need for three Parker SBT guns . Heck two of them I’ve not shot yet .

One for singles, one for handicap, one as a backup. ALWAYS have a backup.

If I only had three Parker singles, I would get up real early and go shopping.

Mike, tell us about that gun. Thanks.

Josh, what do you know about the A-1 Special? I understand that it was on a table near yours. Sorry I missed it.

Bill, as you are aware only 4 A1 Special SBT’s are known to exist. This is the 2nd one I have seen and handled. To be honest I didn’t record any details like bbl length, stock configuration, etc. Josh may be able to give more details.

I looked at that one as well . I have all intentions of being where that one will hit the block in February

Just not for that gun specifically !

Thats a good plan but since I got the vent rib double trap I think I'd do just as well shooting it for 16 , handicap and doubles .

The above S-A1 will be in the Guyette and Deeter auction in February. John Deeter’s booth was next to mine.

And once again the world is waiting for a picture of the
"Murphy trap gun collection". Remember Bill, the gun must have all of it's parts to be considered a gun.

One of the 8's i had on display in the tent was Charlie Hunters which I got at a Guyette and Deeter auction in Easton last year . Also in my truck at Sanford was a totally redone VHE 12 skeet that was also Charlie Hunters that I got in an auction in Mount Crawford VA last year . There were several other Charlie Hunter guns in Sanford a couple of which changed hands again . John Allgood had Charlie's CHE 32" that he purchased at the Mount Crawford auction and I think he sold it while in Sanford .

The stuff thats coming up in February is I think the cream of Charlie's gun collection .

Will the February auction be held in Maryland?

Josh Loewensteiner

Yes - the sale will be held in MD as I understand from John Deeter.

He told me he hadn’t decided on an exact location for the auction . The place where you guys did the decoy auction last fall or another place ! My vote would be for the Inn/Resteraunt across the street from Albright’s . That way if I can’t afford anything atleast I can eat well :rotf:

That's the Tidewater Inn Craig and there are much better places to eat in the area.

Decent places to eat in Easton, Maryland open and close on an annual basis. The most recent are always overpriced and rude. What are Daryl's recommendations?

My one time at the Tidewater wasn’t bad ! Have nothing in the Easton area to compare it to . Heck last time I was in Cambridge looked like all the places we had frequented before were either closed or moved .
