Twice a year I pull all guns from the safe and inspect them, wipe them down, and run a swab down the barrels. I really should sell some, but each has a story.
Here's a nice 20 bore J. Y. Potter that I've had for years. I have killed quail with it, but it carries and is choked like it should be a 'cock gun. I'm leaving it close to the safe door and plan to take it our for home covert woodcock this coming Fall.

Oh my, that one is special. Details? barrel length, chokes, weight etc. It must be opened choked. I love my little G Forrester scottish hammer 20 bore with 30" barrels.

The gun has nice 28 inch barrels, re-proofed for 2 3/4" shells, weighs 5 lbs. 6 oz. and is choked .002/.008. The drop at heel is 2 inches, great for rising birds.
Doesn't it sound like a woodcock gun? Light enough to carry easily with one hand while the other fends off brush. Open chokes for that close shot with 3/4 oz. of small shot.

Would think it would do a great job on those Missouri quail.

It has certainly done that. But these days, it's hard to leave a Parker home on a quail hunt.

Gary: Nah... at that weight with those barrels choked like they are it is a "cock" and quail gun for sure over a good Gorden... Yea buddy...

Load that right bbl up with 7/8 oz of #10, 11 or 12 shot and the left with 7/8 oz of #8 and you're diggin' where the taters are! :)

Not really the "Back of the safe" because it's a recent aquisition.

That's a beauty, Dan, and another Smith with knockout wood.
