Hi im dave

I live in the uk and have a vhe 12 bore 1/2 size frame made in 1937
by Remington s/n 240830.
This gun is in good condition
If any other members own a 1/2 size Parker please could you let
me know as this would be very interesting.

David Ross, for your information, one of our member/posters is doing research on 1/2 frame guns and has compiled a list of serial numbers. I have a 1/2 frame DHE with single trigger, straight grip stock, and skeleton buttplate. It has 16 gauge barrels that are not original to that particular gun.

I don't know what will be done with the list. Hopefully, the gentleman will post on this thread. Maybe you could start a new thread on the "General Parker Discussion" forum. He may not be seeing your thread on this forum.

The complete list of known 1/2 frame guns appears in a article by Craig Reynolds on page 37 lower right hand corner of the Winter 2009 Volume 16 Issue 4 of the Parker Pages. This list is a work in progress as more 1/2 frame guns are discovered the list will be amended to include them I am sure

David

The ser # of the half frame that you posted was a gun that was not on my list. Thanks. I have some extra copies of the Parker Pages with the article pertaining to half frames that I would be glad to send you if e-mail me your address. I would also like to get some additional information concerning the gun. Thanks Craig

Craig has done a great job on the 1/2 frame research. After I found out that I could click a set of #1 frame 16 gauge barrels on a 1/2 frame gun, I now have the opinion that we may find a factory 16 gauge on a 1/2 frame.

Hi Bill
So in theory if you have a 1/2 size frame 12 bore you can stick a set of 16 gauge on.
This sounds good to me a two barrel set would be cool. If you can find some.

Thanks Dave

I have not gotten my ejectors completely operational, but everything else works and fits together like a glove. You cannot use the #1 frame forend on the 1/2 frame. Apparently, the 1/2 frame forend is identical to a #0 frame forend. My ejector problems may be related to the spacing of the trips. I haven't worked on the gun for awhile since it shoots just fine minus functional ejectors. The gun is a classic lightweight bird gun with a #00 size stock, total weight of gun about 6 1/2 pounds. The barrels are Parker Special Steel, 16 gauge, 28", improved cylinder and modified.

Hi BILL
Can you let me know if you get the ejectors working ok? 16 bores do shoot nice.
Thanks for the reply

Hi Dave,

As this thread has certainly taken on some terrific comments and input - I'm going to move it to the main Parker Discussion Forum.

Many thanks!

I need to dig out my notes from the article on closing the Parker operation at Ilion that appeared in PP a few years ago. As I remember, there were no 2 or 1 1/2 frames available, and there were some started 000 frame 410s that could not be completed because there were no 000 fore end irons. The availability of 0 fore ends apparently let them complete 1/2 frame twelves.
My own assessement of the situation, from reading that material, is that Remington was making barrels and stocks on their machinery in Ilion, but that all the frame and fore end forgings had come from Meriden.
Best, Austin
