I'm sure this has been addressed before. Looking for helpful links. Thanks in advance.

Removing rust from where on your gun??

I have very successfully removed rust from all parts of guns, including the bores, using Big45 Frontier Pads and Hoppe's or other solvents.

Exterior barrel rust. Have heard of steaming, probably just need to send to a expert. Just purchased my first, and probably only Purdey. Will post pictures when I receive.

Frontier Pad and Kroil Oil. It has been discussed before on the forum. Look it up in the search engine.

I am no expert but I have good success with the Frontier pad that Dean and Matt alluded to. I also like the Kroil, it smells good as well.:)

I use a stainless steel scrubbie and any good quality gun oil. It'll remove the surface rust and not damage the bluing.

See pictures of my post #11 in this thread years ago. This Sauer was so rust covered you could not read any lettering on it or see case colors. WD-40 and a Frontier pad did the trick in a couple hours! I still have the gun and it still looks every bit as good as it did after cleaning it up back then.

Like Mike I have bought some stainless steel scrubbie’s after using Frontier pads. They seem to work equally well.
I usually do a final clean up with Turtle wax chrome polish and rust remover. It works great for me. Doesn’t remove bluing but absolutely dissolves rust that is left behind after cleaning with a pad and oil.

I have used very fine steel wool with Hoppiesand oil with success.
