Some of those that may look like they're square, at first glance, are not .......... they are very slightly rectangular.

I at first thought 10 but I believe 14 is correct.

Carefully measure the squares on the screen and you will find that there are 2 fundamental dimensions; the sides od the corner squares and ther sides of the inner squares. Print out the picture and label the two lengths as x and y. List the sides of all the possible squares and the ones that are equal are true.
i.e. x+2y=x+2y
2y=2y
etc

I am presuming we are dealing with only the printed lines.

We're down to a consensus of about 3 guesses. Time to end the drama.

Greg, my final guess is 10. Time to end it. Not like we're solving time travel but with the length it's dragged on, seems like it : )

Okay, it appears everyone that wanted to play, played...

The answer, I've been informed, is only one -- and it's the largest square, all others are slightly rectangular, some by supposedly only a fraction of a mm. The answer likely comes as a surprise to most, it did to me, as well.

Thanks to everyone that played, I hope it was fun! :cheers:

You should have prefaced it with "bring your Vernier calipers, calibrate your screen, and also print it out in a 1:1 scale to verify your measurements...." OMG....

I could clearly see that a few sets were rectangular but 14 look square.

Jim DiSpagno

I agree Rich. Unless you use the singular of the word “squares” to make it 15. Based on the drawing presented, you could mic all of them and not have one square.
