Just received my letter on the CHE I purchased last month(159159).Gun letters to the gun down to the Lyman bead sights. They cost an extra $1.00.
This is a gun ordered and shipped without a safety.Gun was shipped in 1912 with a straight stock to W.S.Brown of Pittsgurg,Pa.
Gun was returned to Parker (documented) in 1917 to replace stock with a capped pistol grip stock with less drop at the heel.Present stock wears the original steel butt plate over the checkered wood butt. Also has the original silver oval but what appears to be a horn p.g.cap?
Last week I received a private message from a fellow member of the Association. He purchased the original straight stock years ago with a bucket of parts at a gun show. What are the odds?
He has searched for this gun for over 12 years and saw it when I posted a question on the Forum.
He was kind enough to sell me stock.
Gun is presently up at Del Grecos for ejector repair and general inspection.
Will send pics when gun is returned.
What are the odds? Think I wii buy a Lotto ticket today.
