Newbie here. I purchased a nice example of an 1880s vintage Parker SxS hammer gun missing both sets of firing pins and bushings. Described as Grade 1 Frame 2. Have been working some with a relatively new gunsmith who has taken on a few projects to learn on. But I am hoping someone here might be able to direct me to a source for original or reproduction parts. Also need a right main spring. Developing an addiction for vintage hammer doubles. Thanks in advance for your help.

Man. The internet is a scary place sometimes! LOL. Yep. That are the critter. I bought it on spec to fix and resell. So I have to gauge any money I put into it with what I can get out of it. Any thoughts on that? My objective is to pull enough out of these auctions to finally purchase a really nice antique hammer gun to keep for myself. My best at this point is a Husqvarna Model 103 C.

I assume he is on this forum? Would like to contact him. Remember, I know next to nothing about old Parkers, but really want to learn.

David, for what you’ve paid plus what you’re going to put into it is going to be a wash at best

A wash is better than not being able to move it as is (which I would gladly do). Have received a couple of auction guns that were "technically" as described. Then I found issues that complicate turnover. I have a deal with a local machine shop for when I get a loose sxs. I take them a box of donuts and they slap a little TIG weld on the hook and smooth the sides. I take it home and do that smokey VooDoo thing and file down until they lock up:). I can at least get my investment back to reinvest. This is my retirement side hustle.
