SINGLE TRIGGER GRADE 2 1900-1901 DID PARKER BROWN THIER GUNS?

Parker Brothers finished composite barrels in a manner that would highlight the contrast of the light iron and the dark steel. Common belief is that these were finished in “black & white” but the European barrels were finished to give a light brown/dark brown appearance and were considered to be “browned.”

There are many, many entries in the Parker Bros. Factory records that make reference to guns sent back to “re-brown” the barrels. This term is actually inaccurate in reference to American barrels and the term probably was borrowed from the British term for finishing or refinishing barrels.

I think vinegar will remove any case color if there was any, that was under the varnish.
