Does anyone have a Parker Reproduction w/ a BT forearm? If so, is there engine turning on the inside of the metal, like mine is? [It goes 1/2 up and is very finely done.]

I was surprised to see it when I first purchased it. (This 28 gauge also has a 2 between the 1 and the F, on the lugs below the barrels.)

I just wondered if this was normal regarding the engine turning on them...?

Thanks!

Yep, the engine turning on the the inside metal of Parker Repro beavertail forends is factory original. With the "2" stamped between the lugs appears your gun is/was part of a 2-barrel set and is likely the more open choked set of barrels.

Thanks for your reply, Greg - much appreciated!

I was hoping the engine turning was original and not added on later.

Also, I wondered WHY I didn't get the original case for the Parker Reproduction I just bought? Now, I know! Thanks for that info, also. I did only get the 26" IC-MOD barrels w/ the gun. I do not believe it was ever fired in fact? (I now will always wonder where the other 28" barrels wound up at?)

Thanks again for your help. The knowledge on this site is amazing to me..!

The gun will be put to use this fall on our quail & pheasant here.

The answer to your inquiry is "the 28" barrels are worth as much as some guns". Two barrel sets with 26" and 28" barrels are worth about what a single barrel 28" gun is worth.

Jeweling on the repro BTFEs was standard treatment. I am not sure why. If it was original to the gun, the iron will be serialized. If it was supplied to the customer after the fact as an additional forend, it will not be serialized.

The guns all came with cases originally. But in the end when the remaining guns were wholesaled, a lot of guns got separated from their cases. Or cases could have been separated down the line of ownership of course.

The jeweling on the forearm irons seems to be an Olin-Kodensha feature. The forearm irons of my Model 23 Classics are very finely jeweled.
