Got my research letter in today , I was actually able to find out a good bit on Hibbard Spencer Bartlett & Co . My main question though is what does it mean
"1-EXT for 25357 gun" ?

I have a few from Hibbard Spencer and Bartlett. They were a big sporting goods store.

They must have been pretty decent in size as its still easy to find their merchandise for sale online .
If the 1 Ext part is about a dolls head then Parker never fulfilled that request as it doesn't have one . The weight surprised me I had figured it was a few ounces lighter . The turn around time was quick also on getting my letter .

I wondered the same thing. I just write what is found in the order.

I also wondered since it says no price was listed is because Parker decided against modifying it for a dolls head . I have seen some pictures of guns with the dolls head having been removed and the action filled in but not the opposite.

The first Parker produced with the doll's head was No. 25992 so I don't think the "1-Ext for 25357" had anything to do with a doll's head rib extension.

I suppose it will have to remain a mystery then .
Alot of times these old guns like to keep their secrets .

Reading the letter, I immediately thought J.J. Progue was ordering an extractor for gun number 25357.

Sure! 17 years after production that makes sense.

Extractor repair is also a possibility. Could it have been sent back for the repair and Parker did it at no charge?
