The thread about the Parker with the single trigger got me to thinking . I’m contemplating taking a Parker 12 and a 20 to the Philippines. And the 20 would be my little single trigger gun . And that makes me ask the question , how reliable are Parker factory single triggers ? I guarantee me finding someone over there that even had a clue how to take the thing apart AND put it back together are less than none . I hate the thought of going over there and buying something I wouldn’t look at here and paying what I have in the two guns I’m contemplating . Matter of fact I don’t ever remmember seeing a SxS of any type in a shop over there , best double I think I ever saw there for sale were I think Huglu’s . I did meet a couple Americans that live there and have a kinda small sporting course or so they said and both shot Beretta 682’s a fine target gun in all respects just not a brand that ever turned my crank . I could I suppose take a couple 12 Superposed but I’d rather take the two mentioned .

Oh yeah I failed to mention if I do what I want , the two guns will be there for the duration . This isn’t a trip they’d be there the rest of my life atleast . Hence the reason being overly worried about dependability .

When they work, they work great. I have shot a few that I have a lot with no issues.

It’s the gun I got from your buddy in Savanah . I was just worried about taking it to the other side of the world then if something happened playing heck getting it fixed or even find someone competent to fix it .

I figured that was the gun. If it breaks, there are very few who can work on them and none are in the Phillipines, I am sure

My BIL calls himself a gunsmith but he fiddles with 40’s to 70’s bolt action 22’s . I’m sure he’d wanna try to fix it if it broke but I don’t wanna offend him saying DO NOT LOL’s!

Maybe get them checked out before you go. See if there are any spare parts you could take with you.

Not a bad idea ! This is something still in the planning stages however . If I’m able to send them I’ll have to do it in my wife’s name as technically being a foriegner I cannot get a license for a firearm in my own name .
