Tough to tell in the pictures, but it could have a small pin installed on the left side of the head. There may have been a piece of wood grafted on the left side of the head for a repair as well.

it looks like it's pinned to repair a split at the head of the stock. i guess from the pic it could be a spot of damage, but I doubt it
removing the stock will tell you for sure
whether or not you have an issue depends on how weak the stock was when pinned and how well it was done
sometimes it will last a long time - sometimes the stock is oil soaked and its only going to hold temporarily

If it has even been pinned. All of the Parkers that I have seen pinned have evidence of it on both sides of the stock head... but I haven’t seen them all. This would be a first for me.

Thanks for the thoughts
Unfortunately I was not able to see what the issue was before the previous owner had it refinished.
It seems to be very tight and no additional cracks are visible. Is it a common issue having the pinned with Parker’s?

I don’t think any reputable Stockers use pins like that anymore. Back in the day it was the common repair method. Brian Dudley will see this and give a professional opinion.

Enlarged it looks like a Crown over a white rose which was one of the British monarchs emblem, not sure which. It may be a small cloisonné.
