A 20 ga 2 barrel set with both barrels 28" choked Q1/Q2 and IC/Mod. And with double triggers to boot.

If this is the gun you're referring to:

With the added pad it would probably make a nice shooter for someone, but if that someone values originality and wants it as it came from the factory . . . well, then there's a problem. IMO, the IC/M set of barrels have been altered from M/F. Original Parker Reproduction improved cylinder and modified chokes are normally stamped as IMP.CYL and MOD Why is the complete barrel flats totally blued on this set only? Why isn't there a "2" stamped between the barrel lugs of this 2-bbl. set? There are a few other little details that are suspect with this gun as well.

Greg, you are probably right. I did not look at the details as I had no interest in buying. However, somebody liked it as it is sold.

Yes, agreed. In addition, the LOP with pad is only 14" from the front trigger, so there was quite a bit of wood removed from the stock.

Something I have never noticed on any of my Repros, though it may have been there, is the W over P stamp - the same as on my Model 90.

The slope at the heel means that quite a bit of wood has to be cut to install a pad on a flat surface. There are ways to get around this and retain length, but the result is usually not too neat.

My original post was aimed more at the barrels than the stock. Assuming this is not original I have yet to see a 20 28" with IC/Mod chokes.

Same here, but the Skeuses would be happy to honor special orders, although they are scarce.

The difference between IC/Mod vs. Q1/Q2 is not really worth the cost of a second set of barrels. If one were Mod/Full it would be a more practical set.

I’ve had both in 28 gauge and IMO each has it’s distinct purpose/effectiveness. I have never patterned either but have hunted and shot Skeet with both. The MOD barrel on the 28 really reaches out there. Q1, Q2 and IC have their limits.

I have shot a q1 and q2 for 35 years and in grouse and woodcock hunting find it the perfect combination. The distance involved is short, seldom more than 30 yds., and with a # 6 in the left barrel for the second shot a 40 yd. shot is very doable provided the load is made with hard shot at less than 1200.

The result of over choked guns is obvious in clay shooting as seen last Sat. at Peacedale, our old guns were made to shoot the ammo of the time, soft shot without shot collars , now it puts us at a disadvantage with todays shells.
