Your link directs to Guns America but you mention it is on Guns International.
I believe you are referring to a 16ga VHE on GA. That is a Remington era gun with the
Parker Bros name engraved on the bottom of the receiver up by the hinge pin.

Ah yes David, thank you that is the gun, the 16 gauge. I had been checking out both sites and got mixes up while typing. Being new to Parker's and even read a couple books I still didn't know that the Remington ones were marked on the bottom. Now I know. Thanks also for making it plain so others could find it.

But not even the "Parker Bros name" because Remington Arms did not have the athority to use "Parker Brothers" because Parker Brothers was still in the manufacturing business... just not guns anymore after the 1934 sale or the Parker gun operation.

So, you'll only see PARKER engraved on the bottom of the frame and no longer Parker Bros. on the sides of the frame.

Thanks Dean,
That makes sense from a legal point of view.

Yet, they still stamped Parker Bros. on the watertable well into the 240xxx range --

I guess if the Bros were hidden it was well and good. Also interesting info for newbys like me.

Dave would it not have been possible for that frame to have been patent stamped pre Rem and then used at a later date as were numerous other parts ?

Yes Randy, Remington had a good supply of Meriden parts, including frames, that they used well after the move to Ilion.
