If you are sitting in the snow thinking "go west young man" then perhaps Jack's house would be a good landing spot.

Jack O'Connor purchased this house sight unseen based on the Vernon Speer's recommendation and lived in Lewiston the rest of his life. It is on a nice street over looking the Snake river. I drive by almost daily and noticed a new for sale sign this week. Imagine the conversation you and Jack's ghost could have....

I am sure it looked quite different when Jack had it, must have had every wall in the house adorned with his big game heads!

That's actually tempting.

I could certainly survive in a place like that. Looks like they 'repurposed' what was perhaps a reloading bench in the basement.

In the books I have his trophy room was the room with the horizontal panelling .
I dunno why but I'd expected his home to be om a more grand scale .

In his books I have one of the pics showed his rifle loading press mounted on a desk or table in his trophy room .

Attached is a photo showing L to R yours truly, Vernon Speer, and my friend Fergie ("Bear") Taylor, taken on the loading dock of Speer Bullets in Lewiston ID in September of 1973. Fergie's Mom and Dad had bought a small farm in Dayton WA the previous Spring and were having a coyote problem. Fergie and I worked in a major sporting goods store back East and Fergie bought his father a .270 Weatherby Magnum with a 3-9 Redfield variable scope on it for his birthday. On the loose for the week in the high country, we all piled in the truck one day and drove up to Speer to find out about the most effective bullet weights for deer as well as varmints. When we got back home to Dayton, Fergie and I sighted the Weatherby in at a measured 300 yards. While it wasn't exactly a "tack driver", when Roy said "high velocity", he meant it!

We would like to see a blown up picture of Kevin McCormack as a young man. Kevin owns a rifle?

If he does, I'm wiling to bet its a pre-64 model 70 in .270. I don't think Fox built any double rifles.

Hey Bill, how about a blown up picture of your youthful self with the little 28 bore?
We'd all like to see that, I'm sure.

Will any of us live long enough to see Murphy post a picture?

Nice house. Only drawback is there are neighbors close by. That drawback would be for them AND me.
