Dennis Earl Smith, The Stock Doctor.

I'll second that choice. He's good, really good.

The only person I would trust with a Purdey stock is David Travillion.

The only person I would trust with a Purdey stock is David Travillion.

But David isn’t actively working anymore.... but his protoge, Steve Dalzell worked in David’s shop for two or three years under David’s careful tuteledge and Steve is now working out of his own new shop. David gives Steve his highest endorsements.

I would also recommend Brian Board (Timberluxe founder) as an expert in invisible stock repair and finish.

I have seen Dave Wolf's work on an English hammer gun with the stock broken into several pieces. The repair was invisible. Dave is in Waco, Texas. Is your 20 a Purdy or a Purdey? Either way, we would like to see a picture.

For that stock, you have only two choices: Steve Dalzell as Dean recommends or The Stock Doctor. And "The Doctor" is backed up right now.

You might also check with Kirk Merrington to see who he'd recommend...
