Was high bidder in RIA this past month on a lot. guns were supposed to be here Thursday They did make it to Roanoke 40 miles away, But then for some reason the were sent to Union Gap Washington State being pissed off does not help any, but I will take photos to make any claims that might arise, All three were in one box 43lbs hope they get back to VA undamaged, Gary

Really bizarre Gary. That happened to me twice on guns that were shipped to my address and tracking showed they were coming in the right direction, then for some unknown reason they got diverted across the country. All ended well but a couple of weeks late.

That stinks. I remember that double rifle and was tempted but did not bid.

It was an interesting lot Mills, When I called and got MWT etc they were better than the description in the book so I took a chance the rifle has a cracked stock that needs repair and the grade2 has a repair to the stock, but barrels were better than described so I was infected with Parkeritis and bid, Gary

I wound up with several pre 64 Model 70's. I missed out on the 8 gauge and a SBT, but got the SBT discussed on another thread which is much better. Also bit the bullet and bought a svelte VH 16 on 0 frame with original 26" barrels.

Gary sorry to hear, have you contacted the shipper to put a tracer on the package? The squeaky wheel gets the grease. I have lost two packages recently, I am glad they were not firearms.

All is well Package came 11-10-20, RIA had it triple boxed and no damage to anything, The rifle weighs 15 pounds would love to know little more about how they came to be put on this Parker Lifter, Hope a letter can shed some light on it, ser # 12291 not in the serialization book but maybe I can get a letter Gary

Good luck on the letter Gary. I’m happy to know it found its way home unscathed.

Over the decades gunsmiths/guncranks have done some weird, and sometimes wonderful, stuff to these old objects of our interest. This seen at the 2006 Vintage Cup --

that right hand barrel with the sight mounted on it is a first for me....I have thought of doing this to my old 8 ga...it might help with getting the old gal to have better accuracy...what do yall think....charlie

There was a fellow, at Ernie’s I believe, a year or two ago that had a similar Parker. I took pictures of it. I’ll have to look for those pics.

that 44-40 at 15 lbs must be some thing to behold....thr barrels alone must weigh 10 lbs...I hope it shoots well for you....some pictures please when you get time....charlie

I will take some photos, the rib has three leaf sites, you would have to shoot this gun from a bench rest or a tripod, barrels weigh a little more than 10 lbs, I have a 1866 yellow boy Winchester that is chambered for 44-40 shoots really well, I am now officially naming this Parker the Frankenstien Gun, the sleeving was very well done. Carrying this gun is like toting a 8. ga 36 or 38inch gun, looking forward to the letter, Gary

That looks to be the same gun that was brought to ernies. I think it was 2018.
I thought that the gun could have been built that way, but chuck checked the records and said there was no mention of it.
