Received letter, gun letters as Damascus (Bernard) steel. Wish it came with the second set of Titanic barrels. I’m positive butt stock is original as its serial number is stamped and not cut to have the safety jacket installed. Also at some point aftermarket ejectors were installed.

All I have at this time. I’m interested in members opinion as to this gun being used for live bird shoots.

Very nice gun. Given the special instructions, particularly with the second set of barrels, I'm inclined to believe this was intended to be a dedicated trap gun for either live or inanimate targets. Probably both. Just my opinion.

After further consideration I will stick my neck out a little further and say that the first set of barrels was intended for live birds and the second set for inanimate targets.

Here he is in 1905 at Watson's Park, Chicago. Looks to be using a M1897

So you are the one who grabbed up that C grade on GB a month or so back. I was wondering if it would surface again. It had a LOT more funk on it when being sold. Did the barrels clean up to that way or did you have them redone?
