Also pertaining to this gun...

Are there any things in particular that stick out, or that you look for when attempting to determine if a parker has been restored vs a closet queen? The gun I'm looking at is a nothing special GH but it is in rather nice condition. As you probably guessed, I can't inspect it in person (at least not presently anyway). Any help is always appreciated. I always learn something from you guys when any question is asked.

I do know the following... Parker bros GH 12ga, 2 frame, Parker Special Steel bbls 30'' Full & I.M. (4lb2oz), Circa1924, 14 1/8" LOP

Hope everyone is staying safe and sound. Can't catch covid-19 from a grouse (yet).

Regards,

No records available, but you probably knew that.

the only hope you have for a remote evalutation is to post plenty of good clear photos

Yes, if only I could get good clear photos... The gun is about three hundred miles away, and while I can see what looks like a survivor with faded case colors and great wood, they don't have the definition to show if the checkering has been re-cut, etc. Plus, as I stated above, I don't know a lot of the tricks collectors use to tell if a gun is original or not. If I can get any better photos, I'll be sure to post them, but I'll likely just have to pass on this one. My wife will be so happy!

I highly recommend you definitely pass up on ANY gun you can't handle personally or get good clear hi-def pictures of any and all aspects of the gun that you may request.
