I am attaching an interesting read from a newspaper in Tasmania. A long distance member Ron McDonald sent it to us via "snail mail". That is Ron in the photo.

Ron has been a PGCA Member for a long time and has had three articles published in Parker Pages beginning in about 2008. He has kept up his membership throughout and it's really nice of him to send this article clipping to Mike and Sam!

In fact, Ron has been to the US to hunt the Midwest with several members there both for birds as well as deer and Austin hosted him for a week of "New England Grouse Shooting" and to visit with Robin Lewis and trips to KTP in Kittery, ME and Cabela's in Scarborough, ME.

I would highly recommend folks visit Tasmania. It's an incredible bit of real estate and the residents are just like Alaskans. They pick you up hitchhiking, give you dinner and a bed for the night then breakfast and send you on your way with a bagged lunch..... Incredible place.

Richard:

Yes, you should visit if you are in the area. Most tourists to Australia do not take the time to fly/ sail down and miss an incredible island.
We have been there twice, once by ship to the north coast and then driving to Saddleback Lake. The other visit was flying into Hobart and driving north to the area of Wineglass Bay.

The people are fantastic and there is game everywhere (lots of road kill as well).

I am not sure about the hunting, but it is a nice destination for fly fishing.
Oh, and Errol Flynn was born there...
