parker single trigger Information

I need some information on the single triggers used on Parkers. Were the Miller single triggers a factory trigger or an option on Parkers? Did Parker make their own factory single trigger and is it as desirable as the Miller? Also- Does anybody have a general date when these triggers were in play?

Parker Bros. Had their own single selective triggers, the early and the late style. Several other single triggers are seen on Parkers, the infallible being and on later Parkers the Miller was an option... but any single trigger on a Parker was always an option.

Is there a Parker or Remington catalog or price list with the Infallible or Miller trigger as an extra cost option? I don't have such a catalog in my meager collection. The Parker Story will probably give you information about the date range of various Parker single triggers, but not the others you mention. As far as value, the original Parker trigger is the highest value among all single triggers available on resale guns. All of my Miller trigger and Infallible trigger Parkers are valued members of my collection, but worth less than if they were original Parker single or double trigger guns.

My DHE 12 (209K series no letter available) has a Miller. Any way to tell/guess whether it was original to the gun? Tried to contact the Miller folks. Never got a response

The quality of the installation would be one indication. A factory install would be far better quality than one installed by the Miller brothers after the fact.

Thanks for the responses! I always thought the Miller was the more desired
trigger and not the original Parker single trigger.(Seems I read that in Muderlacs Parker book) Does anybody happen to know what pages in the "Parker Story" where they talk about the different triggers?

I have never seen a Parker Bros. or a Remington/Parker catalog offering any other single triggers. There was, posted on here some time back a Walter King letter to a customer where he states that Parker Bros. had "removed their Infallible single trigger and replaced it with double triggers."

The Infallible Single Trigger was the design of Alfred Harvey Worrest, and was made and installed by his Lancaster Arms Company in Lancaster, PA.

While I've never seen an Ithaca Gun Co. catalog offering the Infallible single trigger, they advertised such in 1915.

Does anyone know when the Miller single selective trigger first became available? Ithaca Gun Co. had the Millers install their Single Selective Triggers on their NID guns beginning in 1926. By the early 1930s Ithaca Gun Co. had their own Howland designed trigger.

The CHE Double Trap I once owned (2007 PGCA Raffle Gun) 230760 was made in 1929 but there are no existing records in the possession of the PGCA to support a research letter.

It does however have a Miller Single Selective Trigger with the toggle in front of the trigger (late design?) that was installed in ...??

There is one Remington repair code of TT3 which indicates a 'service' in 1948. It was at that time that it was refurbished but I can't comment on the date of installation of the Miller trigger.

Also, do we know when the Millers switched from their selector being the safety slide, to the rocker in front of the trigger?

I have a Miller single trigger, It has R, S, L stamped with the L over the SAFE in front of the safety button. It is a manual safety and you slide it up for the right barrel, in the middle for safe and back for the left barrel. I am told if it was Parker installed, it would not be stamped like that. Others much more experienced than me can clarify for you.

It is from the R.A. Moulton repro of the one The Parker Story lists as 1937.

I suspect this big catalog was what Remington Arms Co, Inc. used until the end of Parker sales, just with updated price lists..

Mine, a VHE, has an R, then an S below it and an L below the S which is actually stamped in the middle of the SAFE. The trigger is a rear position trigger which does not show Miller but the gun was serviced by DelGrego who said it was a Miller trigger.

I have a gun that was sent to Turnbull to remove the double triggers and install a Miller single trigger in 2000 I just acquired the gun and wanted the double gold triggers put back, Turnbull said they could not do it! but Dave Fjelline did the change for me!
