Well, here's what I know.
It's an 1881
Frame Size 3
Frame Weight 512
Barrel Serial 12175
Barrel Grade E
Damascus Twist Barrel
The stock has had repairs, but seems in really great shape.
I would appreciate any help to try and value. Depending on how that proceeds, I may just part ways to someone who would appreciate it more than me.

I belive your gun is a 10 ga sir...it is a lower grade parker brothers gun...depends on condition of the inside of the barrels to where its a shooter or a parts gun...will be worth more as a shooter....probably worth between 500 and 750 dollars as a shooter about 250 to 400 dollars as a parts gun....good luck ....charlie

Given the heavily worn finishes and the cobbed up wood it is not worth all that much. Realistically a few hundred dollars.

The barrel has ‘TWISTED’ stamped on it.
Looking around the World Wide Web I can’t see anything where it should have that. I was wondering if that made any difference?
Good pictures taken of the barrel if possible help with the determination of value?

Just tagging so it doesn't turn into a for sale thread... My opinion is, Mr. Dudley nailed the value.
Happy 4th to all..!

The barrel rib, if you will look closer is stamped Twist, Stub Twist, Twist Steel... but not “twisted”.

No, not at all. That comes AFTER the barrels and barrel walls must be very accurately measured by an expert in classic sxs shotguns.

I was just trying to determine the value and all of your help is greatly appreciated.
I’ve seen values on the World Wide Web on the low numbers you have listed all the way up to a few thousand so this really gives me an idea if I needed to ensure it or not.
Again thanks for all your help

I would agree with Charlie perhaps somewhere in the ballpark of $500 .
Interestingly though there is one similar to yours on GB and the serial number is really close to yours also . Just a idea of what it would look like in better condition , not even a hundred apart on the serial # . This is a #2 frame 10 ga which is less common than a #3 frame . https://www.gunbroker.com/item/868771699
If it has sentimental value you could have it fixed up some .

Bear in mind that sellers pricing is always 2-3 times what the gun is actually worth. That is why they dont sell... for years.

James,
I purchased one in similar condition as the one on Gun Broker for $800. A gun store would offer you a few hundred dollars. If this Parker was handed down through the family it is priceless. Do you shoot waterfowl or sporting clays? If so http://www.rstshells.com/store/m/1-10-Gauge.aspx these are the only commercial shells available with appropriate length, velocity, and pressure for guns of your Parkers vintage. If you don't shoot just hang it over the mantle as your Great Grandfathers Parker. Again, priceless.
Kindest,
Harry

As he said, priceless. No telling how much game it put on the table after the stock was repaired, you know it certainly made a family contribution during the depression years, when most families relied on the only shotgun they owned. No doubt, priceless.

Milton, the gun your link goes to is a Grade 2 Damascus barrel gun serial number 12249. The OP's gun is serial number 21733 and is the lowest Grade 0 with no engraving or checkering and Twist barrels. The number on the barrel flat of the OP's gun is the Order Number 12175. The serial number on the barrel should be on the side of the barrel lug.

Ah my mistake I thought he said the serial # was 12175 .
I though a E grade was a grade 2 ?
So his would be more like this one ?

Especially 10 gauges it seems , most the ones I look at have been up for years some over 5 yrs and sometimes longer . I love my 10 gauges but I see them as a niche gun for a already niche market .
