Are Rio hulls made by Cheditte? Same head stamp and appear identical to me. Any info appreciated, thanks in advanve.

Not sure if they're cheddite, but they take the European primers and reload very nicely. I've reloaded a lot of 12ga Rio hulls and really like them. They tough and don't crack as easily as some other hulls.

Just got'em in , checked everything I could including volume, Brian is absolutely correct, identical. Interesting, they were a couple dollars cheaper than Cheditte at BP and the Cheditte I wanted was out of stock. Good to know. Thanks All.

Was doing a search to verify that RIO 3" .410 hulls are actually Cheddites. So glad to find this thread. Thanks Keith, and Brian.

Most of the European shotshell providers are loaders only. Chedditte is in the component manufacturing business and also loads some themselves. Nearly all the European shells will have the same "star" headstamp from Chedditte. [B&P is an exception; they make their own shells] Chedditte also makes primers for most European loaders.

Can you include Fiocchi in those European shotshell makers that use Cheddite components?

Fiocchi makes their own hulls, wads and primers. Not sure about the powder and shot they use but it wouldn't surprise me if theirs were proprietary.
