The world is upside down and the future is uncertain. Are u a Warren Buffett type buy when the market is distressed or just get me the hell out of my collection!!!
I'm not sure where I am since I hit 70, but still have the check book and pen ready !

BUY,...if it makes you feel good! I think Price will drop during tight money periods and they need to drop...I want guns to hunt with! The guns that are selling are priced to sell...everyone wants a fair price and well represented gun with no hidden issues. keep a eye out...better price guns are on the way,...(-: SXS Ohio

I am actively looking for certain configurations in small bores. Nothing indicates that people are dumping long legged 28s or 20s.

I’m a buyer, but on hold. Sorry for the doom/gloom, but my speculation is things will be getting much worse as the government prints money in an attempt to bring us prosperity. Six trillion and counting.

Its been pretty crazy here the past few days , im trying to pay the balance off on my Parkers . Went to the bank they told me to make a appointment because they had the doors locked and werent seeing anyone . So we got a appointment a day or two later then told us it would take 10 days for the check to be deposited . Now all public buildings have also closed , the nutters have been calling the local Sheriffs Department with conspiracy theories . So they have been releasing statements addressing them . I feel sorry for the Sheriffs Department right now .
I hope things stabilize over the next few weeks . So far my local FFL has remained open .

Ammunition might be a good investment right now

Now is the time to enjoy whatever you have. Sitting around the family room, watching old Westerns, with my wife and dogs, surrounded by some vintage old guns. Tonight, a sweet but humble little 20 gauge Trojan is on the coffee table.
Nothing needs to change hands at the moment. Just enjoying what I have, and thinking about the coming season.
Also, a 1953 vintage Winchester M94 sits next to the Trojan. The question is how do I put together a deer hunt for the M 94. There are a few classics in the safe that need to see time in the field.
Buying and selling guns is not a priority at the moment.

Mulling over a Parker as we speak, 3 mo ago I would probably have said ship it to me,now, just don't know. An uncommon gun, a st grip 1 1/2 frame 16,

If you have money, now is the time to buy.

Not quite. The good investment would have been to have bought a lot prior and than sold it now to all the idiots looking for it.

Well these are certainly trying times, but as for me just play it as safe as I can, without going overboard, this virus will pass, Parker shotguns will still be for sale and there will still be folks buying them and selling them, as I am now. You think Parkers are not selling for much now, you could have bought a AAHE in the early seventies for under a thousand bucks, its a cyclical market, always has been, always will be Gary

Always looking for the next Parker without regard to what the next Economist or Politician has to say. If the Parkers are looking for me they are doing a poor job of late as we are not crossing paths. Seems there is always talk of guns coming to market for a variety reasons, most common being the owners age. I cannot say that I have witnessed that personally in the configurations that I desire. I do realize that I am shopping in pretty thin air. I believe that Reggie would agree he has the same issue.

I decided before this mess to take a break and enjoy the ones I have. I have said that before though. Actually, I need to catch up on some projects

I've pretty much put everything on hold waiting to see how all of this work's out. Things are changing so fast on a day to day basis I've decided that it's best for me to just ride out the storm.
My guns are wiped down and don't need to go anywhere for the moment, but they probably won't be seeing any new ones join them in the safe for the foreseeable future.
I am trying to be optimistic and have been planning my fall hunting schedule. I just sent off a deposit check to an outfitter in South Dakota for a October pheasant hunt. Hopefully some of my Parkers will be able to see some action starting Sept 1st with the dove opener.
Keep smiling, better times are ahead!!

The good news is that our Parkers have outlived quite a few viruses, and will outlive this one.

Good time to keep eyes open, two days ago a nice 1908 Colt 380 in a vintage Heiser holster walked into the local gun shop and the old guy traded up to a new 9mm gun. I picked it up for what I think was a very fair price before it went out for sale. Parkers and Colts are an expensive habit but "the old squirrel finds a nut" still applies. This crisis will pass but some folks will sell a little if needed and a nice Parker can find a good home. Post pics if you can, always good to see what you find.

I had been looking for an inexpensive 16 to add to the collection and this Savage Fox Model B fit the bill. It arrived last week right before everything shut down. Phil found this gun for me on the 16 Gauge Society. Made in 1957 in the old Stevens plant in Chicopee Falls and in excellent condition. Tight as a tick, 28” barrels and 7lbs 5 oz. Certainly not Parker craftsmanship but well-balanced with great shootable dimensions. The gun has hand checkering and a nice duck scene etching on the floor plate. I’d say 60% case color remaining and the blueing shows minor thinning. No dents or pitting, this gun has been well cared for. I’ll take her out to the club as soon as I get clearance from the boss.

I'm lucky in that I don't want anything at the moment other than a side lever Frasier action to build a nice single shot 300 H&H on. I certainly don't need anything either.

Garth, my 16 gauge Fox Model B in the "best" configuration is one fine gun, in my opinion. Our friend, Kevin McCormack also has one and shoots it well. I sold him five flats of Remington slow field loads so he could enjoy it.
